When someone asks you how your presentation went, say wonderful things. Don’t deflect by saying things like:īring visibility and attention to your work. When you get compliments about a job well done like a presentation or project completion, say thank you. While this is rooted in genuine modesty, this trait will not serve you in the Canadian corporate space. I come from a culture where downplaying your achievements is seen as ‘being humble’ and others are in awe of your display of false humility. Habit #1: Reluctance to claim your achievements In addition, I will highlight my experience helping newcomers revamp their resumes.
